Force
early varieties by covering with tall jars or wide drainpipe. Keep
an eye on it and harvest when necessary. |

It
is a good time to plant out young trees. Put a good sized stake into
the hole you have prepared. As you put the young tree into the hole
make sure the roots are well spread out. Cover with compost to prevent
weeds. |

Go
to our huge herb section for lots of interesting
information. Buy some new herbs, pot them on and keep them inside
on a sunny windowsill until the threat of frosts has passed, dont
be tempted to use them just yet. It is worth thinking of buying at
least 2 or 3 pots so that you can rotate them. |

Divide
and replant tarragon and chive plants. |

Take
cuttings of the more common labiates (oregano, mint, and hyssop etc) |

Sow
parsley, rocket, mustard and cress directly where they are to remain. |

cauliflower, beetroot and brussel sprouts can be sown under a cloche. |
