Appearance Spikes of white to purple flowers on long stems above the rather silver-grey, long, narrow leaves.
Height 4ft/1.5m
Growing Position Open and sunny spot. However it can be damaged by frost so a sheltered position is necessary if you are not near the coast.
Fertiliser  
Propagation & soil Stem cuttings in Autumn or Spring from 2 year old plants. Dry and sandy soil.
Spring It is probably best to buy a plant or plants to start with and increase them yourself with cuttings. If you have any existing bush, collect the leaves for culinary use in May
Summer Collect the flowers for use just before they reach full bloom.
Autumn Cut off flowering stems to encourage new flowers the following year.
Winter Protect one year old cuttings with straw.
Use The whole plant above ground.
