Growing Position Must have plenty of space and somewhere to climb..

Propagation & soil Rich moist soil. Take cuttings from new shoots.
Spring Train the new shoots up tall wires
Summer The female flowers are harvested when they are ripe in late summer.
Autumn Gradual die down.
Winter Only the roots will survive the winter the dead parts above soil level can be cleared away.

Storage Dry the hops.
Specific Use
  • Cook the young shoots as you would asparagus
  • Put dried hops(fruits) into a pillow with lavender to help sleeplessness.
  • Eat eight flowers raw morning and evening.

Tea:
Take one tablespoon of hops to half a pint of cold water and simmer for 2 mins. Drink a small cupful morning and evening.
