make a very good border if spaced out correctly. Italian Flat Leaf
Parsley is also popular these days. Plant in 6 pots for inside rotation. |
Said to be useful in Cancer prevention and treatment. It is also
beneficial for urinary complaints. Chop and eat raw whenever possible
sprinkled over your meals. For the removal of Head Lice steep the
leaves for at least 7 hours and rub into the hair, this same preparation
will also help hair growth. |
PEPPERMINT,

Treat as Mint. Easy to grow in damp areas of the garden. |
Very good for the treatment of indigestion, constipation, nausea,
cramps in the stomach, headaches and sleeplessness. It makes a far
more stimulating drink for the nerves than either tea or coffee
without the harmful effects. |

Can overgrow so be careful. It is a trailer and climber and prefers
shade. |
External use for ulcers, deep wounds and sores. It can also help
stop profuse bleeding. |

Very easy to grow in a sunny or partial spot in the garden. Slugs
love it and grow to enormous proportions if left unchecked. |
Lovely in salads or lightly blanched. |
ROSE, (BRIAR)

The essential oil of roses is an active heart and brain tonic, and
also a tonic for the ovaries and uterus. Rose petals can be added
to salads. |
ROSEMARY,

Added to meat dishes
vegetables and fruit salads. It has abundant uses for headaches,
high blood-pressure, the heart and nervous ailments. It is a powerful
insecticide and as a wash to strengthen and brighten the hair and
to stop unnatural hair loss. |
RUE,

Grows wild in mountainous regions so would not benefit from a rich
soil. |
It is a very potent herb and therefore should be used with caution
and in small amounts. Rue contains rutin which is highly medicinal
and can strengthen blood-vessels, nerves, glands, bones, teeth and
nails. In Iraq they eat a few leaves with raisins, it could also
be used in salads. It can also be used externally for head lice
and as a lotion in the treatment of eye ailments. |
