Most popular in soup, cakes, bread, and apple-pie.The seeds can

not really thought of as a herb but its beneficial properties abound
especially with rheumatism, arthritis, neuralgia and liver ailments.
It also helps to restore appetite. |
CHAMOMILE,

Most commonly used to make a lawn in an area where there is little
water. It is fragrant when you tread on it. The seeds prefer a sunny
position so they get a good start. |
Chamomile has many uses, briefly, flower and leaves for tea for
a general tonic, as hair lotion to brighten your hair and as an
eye lotion to soothe and heal. |
CHERVIL,

Plant the seeds in your chosen spot every two weeks and leave some
plants to set seed for next years plants. They prefer partial shade.
Remove dead plants. |
Very good in salads and as a tonic if made into tea. Helps the memory
and depression. If you make your own bread add some leaves to the
dough for extra flavour. |

Garlic Chives have a mild onion flavour and make a change in salads

COMFREY,

Another wonder herb with a country name of Knit-bone which rather
tells its own story as it can aid the recovery of bones, ligaments
and muscles. The root was used for the remedy of TB and other lung
disorders. Makes a good insect repellant if you rub the leaves on
your skin. |
CORIANDER,

Sow the seeds where the plant is to remain, it does well in partial
shade. Cover seed heads with muslin to prevent them scattering.

The seeds are dried and ground in curries and the leaves sometimes
called Chinese Parsley because of the likeness. Strengthening for
the heart and to aid stomach ailments. |

Not really an English herb but none the less very popular for curries,
pickles and chutneys. |
