General Information:
Its not too late for many seeds, so check those old packets and give them a chance in some compost,label well.
The threat of frosts has almost passed and the real growing season begins, what a shame it is relatively short for those without greenhouses. At least you have a head start and a place to overwinter. Plants will need feeding and regular watering, keep a careful eye on those really warm days, dont forget to ventilate.

FLOWERS General Info Pot up canna lily rhizomes.
    Hanging baskets could be started in the greenhouse and hung up if you have the space.
  Cuttings Fuchsia.
  Seeds to Sow Fuchsia, jasmine, pilea, morning glory and black eye susan. Check all your seed packets for early planting.
  Time to Plant Pot up canna lily rhizomes and keep in the greenhouse until June, then place them outside.
FRUIT General Info Harvest early strawberries.
  Seeds to Sow Melon.
  Time to Plant Thin the fruits on your peach and nectarine plants..
VEGETABLES General Info Pot up and force chicory.
  Seeds to Sow Tomatoes, runner beans, peas, spinach or any vegetables that you want to grow in the garden.
  Time to Plant Mushroom spawn.
GENERAL JOBS   Towards the end of the month give your plants a good watering all over and then feed.
    Repot those plants that look as if the soil needs refreshing or that the plant needs a new pot. If the plant looks happy just top dress with some new soil. Give them a lift with some organic plant food or seaweed feed.
