Gall An abnormal growth of tissue either caused by bacterium or a burrowing insect.
General fertilizer One that will suit most plants and provide them with all the nutrients they need.
Genus (genera) A group of plants that have similar characteristics and are allied to form a botanical classification.
Geotropism The growth or movement of a plant in relation to gravity.
Germination The development of roots and shoots from a seed.
Graft or grafting The joining of two pieces of stem or root to form one plant.
Grease band A band of a sticky substance placed around the trunk of a tree to trap crawling insects. Please dont use them, try to deter not trap.
Green manure A crop grown especially to replace nutrients in the soil, it is dug in whilst at its peak.
Ground cover Low growing plants forming a weed-free mat.
Growth bud A bud that gives rise to a shoot.
Growing point The extreme tip of roots or shoots.
