Festooning Fruit trees that are trained by tying their branches down.
Fibrous roots A root system with masses of small roots.

Flocculation When lime is applied to clay the particles bind together.
Florets Lots of small flowers very close together, like broccoli.
Flowers of sulphur Sulphur is usually used to correct the pH of an alkaline soil. Please do not use this material unless you understand where and how it has been obtained.
Flushes Irregular but successive crops of flowers or fruits.
Foliar feed A liquid fertilizer sprayed directly onto the leaves and absorbed by them..
Foot The base of the main stem of a herbaceous plant.
Forcing Warmth will accelerate plants or seeds to grow especially at times of the year when they normally would not.
Forking Digging over an area of garden with a fork or lifting vegetables like potatoes.
Form A variation or different strain of a plant.. 
Frame A stucture used to grow early crops as well as acclimatize seedlings to a colder environment.
Friable  An excellent type of soil that is moist, light, crumbly and in small pieces. 
Fritted trace elements  A formulation of plant nutrients which remain available in alkaline soils. 
Frost lifting   Lifting plants after a hard frostl. 
Frost pocket A depression in the landscape where frost collects.
Fruit bud This is not a wood bud but rather one that will produce fruit.
Fruit cage A structure preventing birds from eating your fruit.
Fungicides A substance used for the prevention or cure of disease caused by fungi and some bacteria.
Fungus  A member of a group of non-flowering plants that are not green and cannot manufacture their own food. They live off either decaying organic matter or off a living organism.
