In pots daffodils can look spectacular and can be positioned anywhere in the garden. Once they have passed their best the dead flower heads can be taken off, the leaves tied up ready for the bulbs to use as food and then placed somewhere less obvious.
Once the leaves have all died back the bulbs can either be left in the pot till the spring or lifted out and stored in a cool dark place until February when they should be planted out again.
If your bulbs stay in the pot through the winter keep an eye on them, dont put them in a wet, north facing spot as they might become damaged.
Any daffs that are in the flower beds mark the spot, when they have died back you will know exactly where they are if you have to divide them or move them later in the year.
Plant some bulbs in the Autumn or Spring under a tree or in the lawn to give you a spectacular display.
