	Middle Eastern Spice Cumin has been found in the Pyramids and was widely used as a medicinal plant.

Annual/biennial/Perennial	Annual.
Appearance	The plant resembles the Caraway with umbelsof either white or red and feathery leaves.
Height	12ins/30cms
Growing Position	Warm and sheltered.
Fertiliser	Organic diluted.
Propagation & soil	Rich light soil.
Spring	Sow seeds under glass and harden off when the seedlings are 8-10ins/20-25cms high. Make sure all threat of frosts has passed. Plant out in a warm sheltered spot.
Summer	Tie muslin over the seed heads to collect them when the seeds have formed.
Autumn	Remove old plants.
Winter	Dry the seeds.
Use	Seeds.

Areas of help	Stimulates appetite and acts as a carmative.
Specific Use	Lightly toast the seeds and grind for curries and chillies.
