Appearance Large hairy leaves with wavy edges. The flowers are cream or purple and bell shaped.
Height 3-4ft/1-1.3metres
Growing Position Full sun but damp.
Fertiliser Organic diluted or leaf mould.
Propagation & soil Soil rich in nitrogen and very damp.
Spring Sow seeds in spring.
Summer Thin the seedlings if necessary.
Autumn Harvest the leaves.

Use The roots, stem and leaves.
Aromatic, Medicinal or Culinary Medicinal
Areas of help Insecticide, skin, leg ulcers, bruises and burns. Externally all types of skin ailments.
Specific Use
  • Not recommended for internal use
  • Use the leaves or roots to make a poultice for ailing joints. Crush the roots and leaves make a standard tea put the bandage in the brew when hot put on the area to heal.
