| Propagation & soil | Sow seeds in spring. If you have a well established clump these can be divided and spaced out. Rich well drained soil. |

| Summer | Feed all through the summer, cut off the flower heads and leaves for drying |
| Autumn | When you divide put some clumps in pots so that you will have constant supply all winter. |
| Winter | Mark the position of the chives so that you know where they are as they will die right down. |
