Annual/biennial/Perennial Hardy annual.
Appearance Large deep blue wheel shaped flowers at the top of rather rough leaves with white bristles .
Height 1-3ft/30-80cms
Growing Position Sunny position.
Fertiliser Organic.
Propagation and soil Well drained, rather dry soil.
Spring Sow seeds directly where they will be positioned, thin if necessary.
Summer Harvest flowers.
Autumn Collect seeds as well as harvest flowers..
Winter Dig up old plants.
Use Leaves, seeds and flowers.

  • Candied flowers as cake decoration
  • Make a tea, drink morning and evening.
