Appearance Oblong, shiny, leathery leaves with white flowers and round dark berries.
Height 26ft/8m
Growing Position A sheltered, sunny position.
Fertiliser Organic.
Propagation and soil Moist, well drained soil. Take stem cuttings or layer in late summer
Spring Plant a container grown bay. Position carefully if planting out.
Summer Pick leaves before flowering..
Autumn Take stem cuttings.
Winter If it is in a container keep an eye on it and dont let it dry out.

Specific Use
  • Use leaves dried or fresh in soups and stews.
  • To eat the whole leaf soften in hot water and chop.
